Creamy Pasta with Peas
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb. pasta of your choice
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
- Meanwhile, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the flour and whisk until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.
- Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly until the mixture is thick and creamy.
- Add the white pepper, nutmeg, and peas.
- Cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until the peas are heated through.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted.
- Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the sauce.
- Serve hot.
